The Medgibosh Progressive Solidarity Society

Immigrants from the town of Medzhybizh came together in New York to care for one another in sickness, to pray together, and to buy land so that no one from home would be buried among strangers. The Medgibosh Progressive Solidarity Society kept its own ground at Beth David Cemetery in Elmont, entered through a gate whose two granite pillars list its officers and members. Inside it the society raised a memorial to the people of Medzhybizh murdered in 1942.
The society is no longer active. This site keeps its memory: the names on its stones, the gate, the memorial, and the town its members came from.

Never forgetting, and remembering where we came from.
Part of the Medgibosh remembrance archive. This is an archive kept in memory of the society, not the society itself.
In loving memory
